The Velveteen Rabbit

The magic begins as the toy cabinet comes to life when the lights go out in the nursery. Timothy Lion, Train Engine, Skin Horse, Model Boat and Velveteen Rabbit all spring to life in their faithful quest to be “real”. This new gentle and tender telling of the classic fable is ideal for both the young and the young at heart.

Cast of Characters

Velveteen Rabbit: (male or female, 13-50) Naļve stuffed toy rabbit

Boy: (male, 10-19) a typical little kid who loves his toys

Nana: (female, 35+) No nonsense grandmother to Boy

Toy Solider: (male: 13- 50) Stuffy, bossy toy soldier

Toy Bear: (male or female, 13-50) Bombastic toy bear

Toy horse: (male or female: 25+) The wise toy in the bunch

Two Bunnies: (male or female, 13-50) “real rabbits” that are a couple of wise guys

Doctor: (male or female, 30+) the kind doctor that cares for the Boy

Magic Fairy: (female, 16-50) Like princess in Enchanted

Audition sides will be provided.

No monologues, fees or membership required.
