Earlier this year our season brochures went out with a show in March listed as a “classic family comedy TBA”. At the time, we were awaiting notification of our rights to a specific show being granted and we didn’t want to hold up the brochure any longer. We are now pleased to announce that that show is You Can’t Take It With You. It is a Pulitzer-Prize winning comedy written by the legendary team of George S. Kaufman, and Moss Hart. Audience members may remember another of their shows, The Man Who Came to Dinner, that was performed at studio several years ago.
The show features a large cast that gives audiences a glimpse into the life of the eccentric Sycamore family where things like daily preparation of homemade chocolates in a ballet tutu and firework explosions in the basement are the norm. Through all their unique choices the family bonds over what is most important in life and can’t be bought–love.
Performances are March 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, 31. The show will be directed by Laura Byrne-Cristiano and the stage manager is Joe Ferriero.
