POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive
A wildly funny and razor-sharp political farce, POTUS takes audiences inside the chaotic inner workings of the White House at a moment when everything that can go wrong does. Seven brilliant and beleaguered women scramble to contain a national crisis sparked by one very bad presidential comment. Fast-paced, irreverent, and unapologetically bold, the play skewers power, gender, and politics with nonstop laughs.
“Flat-out hilarious… a feminist farce for the ages” — The New York Times.

Cast Breakdown and Audition Sides
HARRIET: (F, 40+) His Chief of Staff. Steel-Nerved. Seemingly Loyal to a fault. Always in control. Until she’s not.
JEAN: (F, 30s-40s) His Press Secretary. Hanging on by a thread. Master spinner. Constantly amazed at how much can go wrong. Easily baited or pulled off target. In other words, also a mom.
DUSTY: (F, 20s-30s) His dalliance. Farm Girl. Also, in STEM. Also, a Cheerleader. A little ditzy, but that plays into her immense charm & confidence. Open-minded on plenty of fronts, and ready to play ball (and with balls)
CHRIS: (F, 30s-40s): A journalist and nursing mother. Hard-Earned Senior Reporter. Crafty. Observant and quick to act. Under-utilized and written off as a new mom.
The parts of Stephanie, Margaret and Bernie have already been cast based on an earlier staged reading of this production.
