Overview
The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon is a spoof on several of the Brothers Grimm Fairy tales. In this fast-paced, rollicking ride, two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories, from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like Faithful Johannes and The Girl Without Hands. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun. The material is geared for mature audiences teens and older.
We are casting 15 actors to play 42 characters. Each actor will have multiple on-stage roles and backstage duties. We are seeking adults (aged 25+) of diverse talents, ages, abilities, and theatre experience who enjoy long walks on the beach, hecklers, and ensemble participation.
Audition Process:
Everyone is required to perform two monologues from the options below. They do not have to be memorized. Some accents have been suggested that we thought could be appropriate. You are encouraged to play around with any different accents you think will add to the humor of the characters. This is a true ensemble piece, so we’ll be looking for character choices and willingness to try new things.
Please wear clothes that you can move freely in. Avoid boots or high heeled shoes. Bring your sense of humor.
