As two American parents search for closure, they encounter a community determined to help them find it.

A Note From The Director
Hello! Thank you for considering auditioning for Studio’s production of “The Women of Lockerbie” As you prepare, I wanted to provide two notes that could prove useful.
Note 1
A selection from the playwright’s Author Note regarding the layout and structure of the play: “Naturalism as a theatrical form was simply inadequate in capturing the dimensions of this story…stick closely to the conventions used by the Greeks…the use of theatrical conventions such as stichomythia, poetic speech, recited language and heightened gestures…My advice to the actors…of The Women of Lockerbie is trust the form also, and most importantly, to use it. Method acting and modes of naturalism don’t work here.”
Note 2.
Regarding accents: Olive, Hattie, and the Women Tracks will be using a Scottish accent. We understand that there are varying levels of experience with accents and we would hate for people to be detoured from auditioning because of it. If cast, we will work with anyone who needs help with an accent. You are not required to use a Scottish accent in the audition if you feel it would be a roadblock. On the flip side of the coin, if you would be excited and confident to use a Scottish accent in the audition, you may.
