Our 2020-2021 Season, Update July 2020

As summer progresses, The Board of Managers of Studio Players, with heavy hearts but open eyes has made the difficult decision to cancel its productions for the remainder of 2020, and furthermore, to suspend work on the remainder of our productions in 2021 indefinitely.

We had been investigating alternative ways to bring you these events, but for various reasons technical, creative, contractual, and of course the public safety of our members, actors, directors, stage managers, designers, and volunteers, these were deemed impractical for now.

A bright spot: we are proceeding with a virtual production already in the works of our Magic Trunk show Superhero Princess Tales for young audiences later this summer. We hope you and your young ones will enjoy this show in August safely from your own homes! Expecting that this proves fun and rewarding for everyone involved, we hope to learn and find ways to bring you more work in novel formats, both for children and for adults.  Stay tuned!

Even without rights, sets, props, or costumes to contend with, Studio still has many operational obligations from insurance to electricity in the months ahead. We will be offering a reduced membership fee to our family of patrons with revised benefits, and while this is by no means obligatory, we always welcome and rely on support from people like you. You can make a monetary donation of any amount online.

We will continue to investigate ways to bring you many of the critically-acclaimed and original plays we had planned, just possibly later than expected in the new year. In the meantime, thank you for your love and support of the arts. Above all be healthy, safe, and well. We will see you in 2021.
